A RESOLUTION OF APPLICATION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SAN JACINTO, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE
LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION TO TAKE
PROCEEDINGS FOR THE CITY OF SAN JACINTO ANNEX-
ATION NO. 76 AND CONCURRENT DETACHMENT FROM
RIVERSIDE COUNTY WASTE RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the City of San Jacinto desires to initiate a proposal pursuant
to the Cortese-Knox-Hertzberg Local Government Reorganization Act of 2000,
commencing with Section 56000 of the California Government Code, for the
annexation of certain properties as described in attached Exhibit "A" and the
concurrent detachment of same from the Riverside County Waste Resource
Management District; and
WHEREAS, notice of intent to adopt this resolution of application has not
been given to the commission each interested and each subject agency at least
20 days prior top the adoption of this resolution; and
WHEREAS, the territory proposed to be annexed is uninhabited, and a
description of the boundaries of the territory is set forth in Exhibit "A" attached
hereto and by this reference incorporated herein; and
WHEREAS, this proposal is consistent with the sphere of influence of the
city; and
WHEREAS, the reasons for this annexation are as follows:
A. A tentative tract map has been approved by the County for a portion of
this property and the owner wishes to join the City's Landscaping,
Lighting and Park District for City services; and
B. This property was prezoned by the City in 1991 as part of an inhabited
annexation which subsequently failed; and
C. The City desires that the property be in the City and be subject to City
development standards as the property well within the City's sphere of
influence.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Jacinto hereby
approves and adopts this Resolution, of Application and the Local Agency
Formation Commission of Riverside County is hereby requested to take
proceedings for the annexation of territory as described in Exhibit "A", in the
manner provided by the Cortese-Knox-Hertzberg Local Government
I%W Reorganization Act of 2000.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED, this 2nd day of December, 2004,
by the following vote:
Ayes: Carlson-Buydos, Conner, Shaw, Stubblefield, Ayres
Nays: None
Absent: None
Abstain: None
