A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN JACINTO APPROVING THE AGENCY'S
PAYMENT OF CERTAIN EXPENSES RELATED TO
PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS PURSUANT TO HEALTH AND
SAFETY CODE SECTIONS 33445
WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of San Jacinto
("Agency") is engaged in the activities necessary to execute and
implement the redevelopment plan ("Redevelopment Plan") for the
Agency's San Jacinto Redevelopment Project ("Project Area"); and
WHEREAS, the Agency is undertaking certain activities necessary
for redevelopment in the Project Area pursuant to the provisions of the
California Community Redevelopment Law (Health & Safety Code, §§
33000 et seq.) ("CRL") and the Redevelopment Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City of San Jacinto ("City") is engaging in a project
to update and expand the City of San Jacinto Police Station (the
"Project"); and
WHEREAS, the City of San Jacinto Police Station ("Police
Station") is publicly owned and operated; and
WHEREAS, the Police Station is located in the Project Area; and
WHEREAS, the Project will assist in meeting community needs
and will help ensure adequate police services to the Project Area and the
surrounding neighborhoods; and
WHEREAS, sources of funding for the Project include the City's
general fund, the Police Development Impact Fee Fund, and the Small
Law Enforcement Service Fund; and
WHEREAS, the above referenced sources of funding are
insufficient to completely fund the Project, and successful completion of
the Project will require additional funding; and
WHEREAS, without the Agency's assistance in financing the
construction of the Project, the City will not be able to provide funding to
complete the Project without undue hardship on the City, and the City has
no other reasonable source of funding to cover the full amount necessary
to fund the Project; and
