A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
JACINTO RENAMING PENSTEMON DRIVE AS AGUSTIN GUTIERREZ
DRIVE
WHEREAS, the City of San Jacinto ("City") has policies and procedures for the
naming of new streets proposed in the community; and
WHEREAS, Penstemon Drive is a recorded paper street within Tract 32053 that
has not yet been constructed; and
WHEREAS, CNH Homes is developing Tract 32053 into a single family
residential development; and
WHEREAS, CNH Homes has requested that Penstemon Drive be renamed
Agustin Gutierrez Drive, after Army Spc. and paratrooper Agustin Gutierrez who was
killed in Afghanistan on March 28, 2007.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, determined, and ordered by the City
Council of the City of San Jacinto:
SECTION 1. The City Council finds and declares as follows:
A. Renaming of Penstemon Drive to Agustin Gutierrez Drive is consistent
with City Council adopted policies to allow for streets to be named after
fallen public safety and military personnel from San Jacinto; and
B. Renaming of Penstemon Drive to Agustin Gutierrez Drive serves a public
interest by identifying and recognizing the ultimate sacrifice in the name of
public service.
SECTION 2: The City Clerk is directed to certify the passage and adoption of
this Resolution; enter same in the book of original Resolutions; and
make a Minute of its adoption in the City's records and in the
Minutes of the meeting when it was adopted.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk is further directed to forward a certified copy of this
Resolution to the clerk of the Riverside County Board of
Supervisors and to the Riverside County Surveyor.
SECTION 4: This Resolution will become effective immediately upon adoption
and will remain effective unless repealed or superseded.
