Mayor Alonso Ledezma called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.

4. DISCUSSION ITEM
4.1 City Council Vacancy Interviews and Appointment
City Attorney Michael Maurer presented the staff report.
There were 11 public comments on item 4.1:

Council interviewed the six city council applicants Michael Heath, Barry Claborn,
Corrine Awad, Russell Utz, Adam Tostado, and Philip Trickey.
Barry Claborn and Philip Trickey withdrew themselves from the interviews.
M/S/C (Ruiz/Ledezma) made a motion to appoint Michael Heath to the vacant
City Council seat. Motion carried 4/0.

5. CITY MANAGER UPDATE
City Manager Robert Johnson will present the City Manager Update on the November 3, 2021
meeting.
6. FUTURE REQUESTS FROM CITY COUNCIL TO STAFF
Council appointed Mayor Pro Tern Ruiz and Mayor Ledezma as an Ad Hoc Committee for
the appointment of the vacant Planning Commission seat.
7. ADJOURNMENT
With no further business before the City Council, Mayor Ledezma adjourned the City
Council's Regular Meeting at 9:03 pm.
